what to do in marrakech ?

1- outdoor dining in jeamaa el Fna

Market stalls on the main souk in the medina have a range of Moroccan dishes that you can eat fresh. Do not be put off by the street food: it's one of the best that we can find in Marrakech (and the world for that matter). Eating on a shop or stall proves and more much cheaper than any of the overpriced restaurants that line the famous places, and the food is cooked right before your eyes while you wait!

In the evening, from 18 pm Jemaa el Fna is a large restaurant located at very cheap grills, kebabs and fish cooked in front of you. A good fifty restaurateurs vendors, grouped by "specialty" (snails in a corner, grilling - kebabs, sausages ... - elsewhere, desserts ginger a little later). form a large well-ordered over which fleet smoke braziers rectangle.

We settle on small benches and enjoyed. Unbeatable prices for ($ 4), a complete meal. excellent cooking for fish. others for fresh salads, meats and sausages. . and others for couscous.

2- Going to a steam room  "hamam"

hammam marrakechYou can not visit  Marrakech without enjoying  the luxury of a steam room, a different spa experience in the Western world, where we will ask you to undress for a good cleaning.  hammam marrakech
Hot water will be splashed on your body before exfoliation of your skin. While you will be spotlessly clean, follow a relaxing massage that will make you float out of steam and coated with a divine scent.

3- Stroll in the  Majorelle  garden

Inevitable in the new city, the Majorelle Garden (botanical garden all in blue). The garden belonged to fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. At his death in 2008, his ashes were
scattered in the garden.

this garden is a place of calm in the heart of this teeming city. The lush vegetation takes you on a peaceful and harmonious world. A nice stop time to realize preferably in the morning.  This  garden is to see without hesitation to cut agitements of the city and enjoy the birds cooing and wriggling water fountains.

4- Koutoubia Mosque

is a monument to Marrakech. It stands in the city center and by Muslims are called to pray every day. The beautiful minaret can be seen from all over the Medina. Only Muslims can

enter but you can take pictures and admire it from the outside.

5- The Saadian Tombs

built by Sultan Ahmed El Mansour for himself, his family and ancestors, more touristy and very beautiful to look at, though it is a "garden cemetery". Beside the mosque is also El-Mansour, one can not visit but very beautiful. To access the tombs, we follow a long narrow

7- getting lost in the "souks"

We can not get to Marrakesh without getting lost in the souks and enjoy local crafts. Remember that haggling is imperative.
Marrakech has the largest traditional market (souk) in Morocco.

Once the people of Marrakech lived their dealings with Africans and Spaniards who arrived by sea.
Lose yourself for a few hours in the narrow streets and negotiate with local people for all kinds of business. The souks are one of the most fascinating attractions of Marrakech.Starting with carpets with nice jewelry and colorful spice souk has everything. Buy here all the memories to take home.

8- A carriage ride

They are part of the landscape of Marrakech. Although I found it a little kitsch initially, I enjoyed this walk around Marrakech. The carriages are made Jemaa el Fna.

a rather special to visit when you are self studying as this is an old Koranic school founded in 1570 building! Like all ancient monuments, architecture and decoration are sublime: stucco wall, carved wood, colors chaudes.La Ben Youssef Madrasa is a wonderful example of the Arab-Andalusian architecture.

10-   marrakech palmeraie

this palm garden stretches for miles and has nearly 10,000 trees. Compared to an oasis in the middle of the city. Start to challenge yourself to do a camel ride around this beautiful palm grove. You can come here by taxi or tourist bus with multiple stops.

The Western High Atlas  "ourika"

This chain of snowy mountains visible outside Marrakech, impressed travelers for its contrast with the dry desert climate that is close. If you want to enjoy the beautiful landscape.  The village of El valle del Ourika, the busiest in the area, is also a place to enjoy nature. Also, "Asni" and "Imlil" are superb starting point for a walk to the mountains. From the village AMIZMIZ, you can have wonderful views, it is easily accessible from Marrakech.
